Since dogs are reported to sleep most of the time when we’re gone, the little Prince might prefer lights off.
That said, we leave an audiobook with a nice calm reader going for our little Duchess when we go out to help mask the noises from neighbors in the hall.
As you know, the background noise was crucial for my Nutmeg! Without it, she barked at every noise she heard (driving the landlord insane)! As for the lights, I don’t think it goes unnoticed by the dogs.
We put the little dogs in the windowless bathroom when we go out. I leave the light on during the day, but not at night, in some vague notion that they’ll get their days and nights mixed up.
